Take a peek at what the app looks like

Crossword Dictionary has been redesigned from the ground up in January 2010. It has more features, works better and looks better than ever.

Main screen

The main screen lets you choose in which mode you want the app to operate. It's as simple as flicking your finger on the top part to chose a mode and then touching the bottom part to activate it. To help you, the bottom part of the screen shows a description of the selected mode.

Browse mode

The Browse mode lets you browse the word list. You can filter results using a filter string.

When entering a filter, you can enter a dot "." to match any character or an at symbol "@" to match multiple characters.

Crosswords mode

The Crosswords mode helps you solve crossword puzzles!

Use a dot "." for unknown letters. And if you wish, enter hint words to restrict the results.

You can decide how many results you want to display. When displaying less results, only the most likely are shown

Definition viewer

Touching any word in search results brings up the definition viewer.

If you want more information about a word, simply touch the screen to Google it or to look it up on Wikipedia.

The bottom menu bar lets you mark the word as a favorite, email its definition, or adjust the font size.
